It’s great because premium
It’s great because premium means something more, so the teas in this series have more complexity and offer more interesting taste sensations – treat yourself, you’ll feel it!
Just because Huang Ya simply means yellow bud, doesn’t mean it’s anything special. Yellow tea is said to have been an imperial domain, well, and gave immortality, and it was a crime for “ordinary mortals” to drink it – that explains a lot.
This one comes from the Simao region of Yunnan province. The process of drying begins with “burning” in a wok, so that the enzymes are deactivated and the tea. The leaves are then gently wrapped in cloth to dry naturally for several hours. This process is repeated to produce a high-quality dried tea. It has a low caffeine content.
What it’s called, it also tastes like, yellow – like yellow fruit, like something sunny – all in all, with the fancifulness of Chinese tea names, it should be called some kind of yellow pineapple dragon or something… or not – we’re unlikely to know how to make it as they do.
