Black dragon style – and it’s not kung-fu, it’s oolong!
These leaves, steaming in a pot, were associated in China with dragons – they have a fantasy.
And this tea isn’t even from China, it’s from Taiwan – oolongs are made there, too, like in Fujian, where these most-oolongs grow. And oolong is oxidized tea – the more, the closer to black teas, the less, the closer to green teas, that’s why it’s somehow in between and called blue (but it’s not, well maybe a little).
There’s an awful lot of work to do with this tea – first withering, then cooling, then tossing, toasting, rolling, roasting – how much work is involved…
There are Oolongs with very intense, more difficult flavors, we have something for beginners who want to enter the subject more gently – Formosa will be a subtler brew, with a lighter character!
