This is Roasters’ Choice!
You can’t find a coffee like this anywhere else in the world – we looked for it on the other side of the world, personally, and we came to the right place!
Since I started working in coffee, visiting farms such as Aquiares, Las Lajas, Corazon De Jesus or Hacienda Sonora has been a priority on my coffee bucket list. I managed to check off these points this year, and the grain from the Hacienda Sonora land is right in front of you. What awaits you in a cup of this coffee? First of all, a juicy first sip, lots of dried fruit, but also lots of berries and other juiciness from the berry group. This fruity mix is a result of the Kenyan variety that we have here – SL28 and the processing process – Natural. When I was growing up, nu-metal bands were all the rage, trying to marry hip-hop with guitars. It seemed like a crazy idea to me at the time. In Costa Rica Alberto and Diego (father and son – owners of the farm) married much better than these bands, something that might seem not to fit together – the Kenyan variety with the traditional natural process for their farm. Here everything plays cleanly. Everything fits.
