Once you get there, it’s a downhill from there!

Because getting coffee off the Sierra Mazateca is not a small deal.

It’s a mountain range north of Oaxaca. The region is strongly separate – remote, and difficult to access. The topography is not for rookies – steep on all sides, you can fall off and still get lost along the way.

Mazateca is strongly associated with the culture of shamanism, and psychedelics – it was once a pilgrimage center of alternative tourism. Today, the region is rarely visited, and due to the difficult terrain, is sometimes overlooked even by coffee geeks. May they regret it!

In Oaxaca, I came across a great Onno cafe – I drank local coffee there and really wished I could bring the local crop to HAYB. I met several farmers from Mexico – all of them were dedicated to their work, and when they found out that somewhere in Poland at the end of the world they were drinking their coffee, they were all over it.

Let them be happy because we drink with pleasure: Oaxaca finally in HAYB. Here we have a classic washed coffee. Lots of cocoa and almonds, slightly fruity finish. A strong classic rarity!
