Competition Coffee #007/2022: Colombia Weimar Lasso

Lasso it with a Lasso

We won’t keep it a secret any longer – # 007 come in!

Well, this October is clearly Bond month – Barrel 007, Competition also 007, don’t tell us it’s a coincidence!

Because it is not, we just fly with these coffees at breakneck speed, because there is so much good to try in the world, and we would like to catch it on a Lasso and pull it towards each other.

And it is happening!

We caught the Colombia Weimar Lasso, which is quite a hit for many reasons. We could hang noodles for hours (and we’ll probably do it anyway), but here we’ll just figure it out:

001 – Difficult to find variety, we have never had it in a HAYB oven before, although we have wanted to. This is Chiroso Bourbon, which has been storming Colombia for about 5 years, because it is super complex, floral and citrusy and beautiful in general.

002 – This is a microlot, we only have 48 kg.

003 – Join, unite, merge and reconcile, washed anaerobic processing. It is what causes a beautiful floral intensity, sweetness in the type of white (and slightly yellow) fruits and expressiveness, and there are no sticky fermenting inflections. And there are even tropics – albeit in a super clear, mega-transparent version. This is something for lovers of light, transparent cups and for those who want something sweet, vibrant and fruity.

004 – 89 points, no kidding, that’s a lot!

005 – Coffee from Colombia has recently been conquering our hearts and making a craze in the city, and this one tastes so much that we could not decide blindly whether it is some cosmic Kenya or some other miracle. It’s no coincidence, Colombians know how to get the job done!

006 – It’s still here, but you might not make it.

007 – YOUR NEIGHBOR DOESN’T HAVE IT!

We have already done the last two cheeky ones – we do not play such counting out for the second time. Lucky number 7. – take it, drink it and let others envy you living in luxury!
