Evina’s Geisha
Finca La Montañita is Evin and Alma Moreno’s farm, hidden in the lush greenery of the village of El Cedral in the Santa Barbara region. Its owner, Evin, is a third-generation coffee farmer and a proud continuation of a beautiful coffee tradition. The Moreno family was the first in the area to plant and cultivate coffee—previously, this region was associated strictly with vegetable farming.
In 2012, during the economic crisis, Evin and his wife Alma decided to leave for Spain. They rolled up their sleeves and worked hard to get their finances back on track. They succeeded! Thanks to that, they were able to return to their beautiful, 3.5-hectare piece of land.
In 2013, Evin entered the prestigious Cup of Excellence competition for the first time and immediately secured 12th place. He decided to focus heavily on experimenting with various processing methods, and the results were brilliant. He shares his processing station with fourteen family members, including brothers and cousins. He constantly upgrades the infrastructure on the farm and at the mill, and this year he plans to build two more solar dryers to squeeze the absolute highest quality out of his coffee.
This year, we present to you a beautiful, floral, and juicy Geisha from this man!
