Coffee with a Green Heart

Gititu is one of four washing stations belonging to the Aguthi Farmers Cooperative Society, located in one of Kenya’s most fertile coffee-growing regions. The plantations stretch between majestic Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range—ideal conditions for growing coffee of exceptional clarity and distinct character.

Around 800 farmers deliver their harvest to the station, with each managing a small farm averaging about 300 coffee trees. Working within the cooperative allows them to jointly uphold high quality and earn fair compensation for their work.

At Gititu, great emphasis is also placed on environmental protection. Specialized filtration tanks prevent wastewater from mixing with clean water during processing, effectively minimizing the production’s impact on the surrounding nature.
