Dogs are cute, that’s a given..
Natural coffees are sweet, that’s also a given.
There was one more thing I took into account when looking for beans for this project. Mongrels are underrated, and so is coffee from Tanzania. We didn’t have this origin in our offer yet, but when I tried these coffees on the same table with coffees from other African countries, this batch stuck in my memory and I knew we would use it here. So, a few words about the farm itself — located in southern Tanzania, right on the border with Zambia and Malawi, the Sambewe cooperative was established in 2007 and currently brings together over 440 farmers who grow coffee on small farms. They share a mill, which is where the beans are extracted from the coffee cherries. The local authorities, who want the region to become more professional in what it does, funded the purchase of newer equipment over a decade ago. In addition to managing the processing, the cooperative also handles the transport of processed coffee, all the documentation, and marketing. As you can see, the investments are bearing fruit (hehe), and thanks to the hard work done there, we can now support the mutts by sipping this delicious brew. Cheers to us and the dogs!
By buying this coffee, you are supporting the residents of the “Viva!” Shelter in Korabiewice. From each package of Doggy “Kundekowa” Coffee, we donate PLN 20 to support the shelter and the dogs in its care. Thank you for working with us <3
